This view of the Granaries at Nankoweap displays a sweeping view of the Grand Canyon. These shelters were used by the ancient Anasazi people to store seed. Hovenweep
Hovenweep is located southwestern Colorado and southeastern Utah, and is known for six groups of pueblo villages that settled in the area and remained until the 14th century. There is evidence of occupation by hunter – gatherers from 8,000 to 6,000 B.C. until about AD 200. This is one of my sister’s favorite places and she has convinced me of it’s beauty! The Oysterman

Najac is one of the beautiful small villages in the south of France. The 13’th century castle overlooks the small village with only one main street along the ridge of the mountain. St. Foy
Churches are the focal point of small villages and towns, and I particularly liked this one in southern France. I like to use the natural warmth of terra cotta in the buildings since they are the main focal point of this piece. When I was nearly finished with the drawing I realized that it needed a figure in the foreground, and so I found an old photograph of my French grandmother as a young woman and set her in the painting along with an image of my cat Lucy.
